I am going to change a radio from vertical to horizontal polarity. The problem is there is 35 clients off the antenna. What would be the best way to do this to minimize downtime? I don't mind it bein

a changed in polarity can cause up to 30db change. how about setting up a second AP with the new polarity, so that you can change everyone over with minimum pain for everyone? If you used a different

Thats not a bad idea. the only concern is will it cause too much interference to do anything? I cant change the channel because i'm already using 6 and 11 up on the roof top. if i change thepolarity

Put up a second radio in horizontal polarization, leave the original there in vertical. Then go around to the 35 clients and switch them over to the other polarization at your leisure. When finished

holy crap! 65 db! WOW. Provided you're using turbocell, you may still be able to make a go of it. The differnce in polarity will probably help - assuming that most of your noise is the same polarity

Does anybody know what the C/I requirements are for TurboCell, I have seen it working with -67dbm signal and -70dbm noise, which would be a C/I of 3db... Any other real world experience? [mailto:karl

just thought you might want to know, changing polarity made a huge difference. Went from -65(amped) noise floor to -74(amped) and have good signals throughout the network. I'm sure the antenna had so
