Does anybody know of a RV converter that is not noisy? I have noisy spikes ever 50 kHz. Can I put toroids on the power leads? Thanks, Jim W9UUM _______________________________________________ RFI mai

I'm guessing this is a 12VDC to 120VAC inverter. Yes. There's an AC line filter on page 23 of k9yc.com/RFI-Ham.pdf You can also use my latest (2018) Cookbook for transmitting chokes wound with #12 TH

I meant to add that there's no guarantee chokes on both power leads will solve your problem, but it's the best starting point. If you notice some reduction of noise, use multiple chokes in series. 73

I do not know what your power requirements are and would assume a 12 vdc to 120 vac / 60-Hz inverter. However, I use a 300-watt inverter (for small loads). It is a GoPower Model GPSW-300 and is spiff

Converter in the RV world is either a 120 VAC to 12 V power supply or a battery charger. Of course, they can produce the same kind of RFI as an inverter. 73, Scott K9MA -- Scott Ellington -- via iPad

You nailed the terminology Scott. I use a Samlex SEC-1250UL converter after the original POS Winnebago installed let the smoke out. I have never heard noise/birdies on HF from it when using dipoles o

Yes, but some are much quieter than others. The slide on page 213 of this deck shows what I had to do to make their smallest "Pure Sine Wave Inverter" quiet enough to run a laptop in W6GJB's pickup r
