- Hi, What do you think of TinySA as the main tool for RFI research in order to intervene effectively instead of a simple portable HF radio? 73! Hugo _______________________________________________ RFI

- Spectrum analyzers and spectrum/waterfalls built into radios are very useful tools, but not if equipment needed to run them are noisy. These two docs list some, also some good battery operated radios

- I have one, and It's not very sensitive, so a preamp is required. I think a portable receiver, directional antenna and a discerning ear are better tools. Dave Hachadorian, K6LL Yuma, AZ Hi, What do y

- Hugo and all, I have looked at and tried the TinySA as an interference testing tool. The sensitivity of the Tiny Sa only goes down to -100 dBm. I was thinking at some point I would add a 20 dB preamp

- Hi All again, While I am thinking of it I also tried the little radio called a Malachite. It suffers the same problems but is a bit more sensitive than the TinySA. One of these with some sort of ante

- I don't know if with DX Engineering Portable Receive Preamplifier-Attenuator DXE-NL-PRE-ATT-1 if that would make the product perfect by adding a directional HF and VHF antenna? Hugo Loranger ________

- Another thing about the Tiny SA is that the screen is very difficult to see in bright light. When you get out in the field tracking down a noise, you will encounter many noise sources. You don't want

- I agree totally with Dave... I looked into this for a brief moment, and came to the conclusion that the tinySA is simply not sensitive enough for this task. See: https://www.nk7z.net/sdr-rfi-survey-p

- Chuck, What a cool idea, RFI from RX in one ear, and re-transmitted RFI in the other... I have to try that. I guess I am lucky... For some reason, (I know not why), I have been able to match RFI sour

- The Tiny SA is typical of even expensive spectrum analyzers of the past, even HP. They came without a built-in preamp and the noise figure was typically 18 to 22 dB. They needed a preamp, external. E
