In my search for property on which to build a new home we have come across several lots that are in proximity to 138kV overhead distribution systems. One lot, in particular, is within 150 ft of such

I've always wondered about this but have been afraid to ask a stupid question. How do you know what voltage the lines are around you? Is it marked somewhere on the towers/poles? I have some HV towers

It took almost a year to solve my problem dealing with HV lines. In my case, the lines were managed by a third-party and leased to the local power company. They shutdown a nuke plant to work on them

I can add my own story to Tom's. In my case, I had a high-tension line about a mile south of me at my last QTH, in central NY. I could always find an increase in the noise floor from it. Perhaps some
