Hi Alfred: I suspect your problem there is with the transistor. Not that it is bad necessarily, but mis-wired. Transistors come in a variety of pin configurations and it is real easy to get it wrong.

This one is ok but I would avoid the 64-bit version of Vista. I have it and while 32-bit software runs ok on it, some drivers do not. I have a two year old Canon flatbed scanner which I got to run ok
