- Don't rule out HyGain. I have had an AV-640 up for 5 years and love it. I do run a KW to it occasionally. I burned up an R7 calling E4/HA1AG on RTTY running a KW on 15 meters. Still need that one! --

- Don't discount 17 meters. When the band is open, there is usually some sort of RTTY activity there. PSK is also very active on this band. I agree, 40 and 80 are usually dead unless there is a contest
