Wayne, I agree, there are no classes which fit my most frequent operation, which is single operator, low power, when-I-have-time, when-the-wx-is-bad, when-I-can't-find-anything-else-fun-to-do, etc...

Gregg, try Don AA5AU's excellent Rtty site and print out and read "Getting Started on RTTY"...take some time and learn about the mode and MMTTY and do a lot of copying and learn how your radio works
