There's no doubt this topic will stir up some controversy from every point of view, but what he heck I'm game. So here goes... I was somewhat disappointed to read the classification for the "Rookie"

I suspect the contest sponsors believe that someone with much experience in amateur radio (except for contesting) would make the move to contesting with little difficulty compared to a new licensee.

Well, being new to RTTY, period, I saw the "Rookie" as less than 3 years. I have been a ham for over 9 years and have enjoyed many different modes. I am currently trying to figure out how to contest
