This has happened before where someone configured their program incorrectly and did something similar by sending O but had 0 in their config so their generated log showed number 0 and not the letter

I think it depends on whether the log checking robot takes the "sent exchange" field seriously and if it allows the field to change in the middle of a contest. Robots obviously allow it when numbers
