160 is generally (always?) "open," but the most common limiting factor is noise, and this is a lousy time for 160 here unless one has a good, low noise receiving antenna. I can barely hear some activ

I think it's attractive because it's hard to do. I doubt if they will bother anyone between 1800 and 1810. I have been QRMed above 1815 but never below. So much for the "gentleman's band". -- Bill, W

Shelby you don't necessarily need a 160 antenna to make Qs on that band. Just ask K4JRB about loading his 40 meter beam with a tuner and making contacts during the CQ 160 contests. During NAQP CW & S
