- So where I live, I have a lot of neighbors...really close neighbors. I need to keep them happy. I have permission from the powers that be to put up some antennas. So I ask, how viable is RTTY at "QRP

- Viable with decent resonant antennas. Good enough for some fun in the contests but PSK may be better for rag-chewing. That power level should cause no problem with interference to neighbours, but avo

- I wouldn't worry about using more conventional power levels unless your neighbors are using broadcast TV antennas and you are in a fringe zone. I use wire dipoles in pine trees - typically 40-50 feet

- Hi, Thom. RTTY is just as viable as CW at 5-10 watts if you have a good decoder configured properly. When people get frustrated with QRP it is usually because the 5-10 watts is coupled into a crummy

- Yes - and another frustration is the /QRP that some think they need to append at the end of their call. If your signal is marginal, all that will get printed time after time is the /QRP. 73 Tom W7WHY
