I am thinking about operating QRP Field Day in 2009 out in the field, and using TR-Log. Since I don't want to use a generator, but I do want to use a computer, I would like to know if it is possible

I don't think you'll be able to make this work. TR's way of viewing hardware is frozen in time, and there's no direct support for USB. It would take some real Windows magic and the right kind of conv

You mention the one-laptop per child, and I believe the native operating system for those is linux. I run TR in linux using dosemu which works pretty well. I have real serial and parallel ports on my

You may try Windows reincarnation of TRlog called TR4W. It is free and can be downloaded here tr4w.qrz.ru It supports almost all the old TRlog commands and works with USB to serial adapters. It also

Unfortunately TR4W has no support for SO2R...the main reason I still use TR. Any idea if the developers are planning on adding two radio support? With DOSEMU I was never able to get good CW output ex

Developers occupied with SO2R right now. Think that via some time I will upload version to test Alt-R function. Without Alt-D yet. UA4WLI Dmitriy _______________________________________________ Trlog

I have no idea if this works, or if you have it in your BIOS, but I have a USB enable Dos switch in the BIOS of this desktop that is about 4 or 5 years old. I don't have that type of cable to even tr

I find it adequate, but I probably have low standards. I just tried recording a CQ TEST using the rig's sidetone with the internal Keyer; TRlog under dosemu first with a parallel port; and then with

Thank you very much for all of your answers. The summary is - I might get the keying to work thru a USB port, but there is no guarantee that it will sound good, especially at higher CW speeds. I am
