Probably a design feature so that the connector pins do the locating rather than the ring. Call it self centering. When screwed down tight, everything is properly aligned and locked in place. Bill/K3

IMHO, its a marketing ploy rather than a matter of optimism. A way to try and keep 'em from grabbing something available NOW, like a 7800 or a FTdx9000 while TT is stuck with NOTHING to offer. Bill K
