I believe the bypass circuit was added to the DSP-9+ because so many folks had problems when their DSP-9 was running on very narrow bandpass, and the CW monitor tone was outside that bandpass. Hence
Rick, I copied down the wiring when I built the new cable for my Studio One. Here it is: XLR End (viewed from the back of the connector, starting with the ground clip at the top and going clockwise):
You know what's odd about this conversation (which I'm helping to extend way beyond its useful life) is that TT gear has been designed this way for many years, and lots of us have used their rigs wit
However, for their vacuum relay switched amps, like the 91b and 99, you can run the same TT keying loop as you would use for a TT amp, and the Alpha's switch beautifully that way. The web site method
I have had a Simplex for a couple of years now, and I sold my Profi II when it arrived. Don't get me wrong, the Profi was nice, and even a little better looking, but the Simplex just tickles me it is
I have the Simplex and the Magnetic Traveler Light. The only difference in feel I sense is that the spring loaded ones can be set for a heavier feel. Yet they can also be set very light. I don't noti
The bias transistor blew on mine when the amp was only a few hours old. I replaced it (not trivial), and never had another problem until a few years later when a 3-500Z developed the dreaded cathode/
The ProSet worked FB with my Omni VI+. I ran the mic gain at about 1 o'clock and the processing about the same - got great audio reports. 73, Duane Duane Calvin, AC5AA Austin, Texas
The change was made prior to the Orion2, but I don't know when. I traded notes with the LDG folks since they are planning to release an even better tuner with memory built in, unlike the ones TT has
According to LDG, the new one they are planning has the same or better range, and has memory. I really like the memory idea as ths will speed tuning even more. I agree, the current Orion tuner has co
OK, I'll bite - are you starting the rumor, Mike? You know what "they" say - if there's not a rumor, start one. 73, Duane -- Duane Calvin, AC5AA Austin, Texas http://home.austin.rr.com/ac5aa
Toby, How do you know this? My understanding was that Ver. 2.0 was to run on both versions of the Orion. Later they may need to "split the build tree" as new features that reqiure more memory than th
It appears to me, from the waveforms shown in the FT-9000 ETR that this rig is going to have the same click problem - unless Yaesu has waveform shape adjustment like the Orion has. 73, Duane Duane Ca
My comment was directed toward the FT-9000 ETR, not the Orion's. The waveforms shown there have very sharp edges. 73, Duane Duane Calvin, AC5AA Austin, Texas
For a little different point of view . . . As someone who has been DXing now for about 15 years in apartments, condo's and now my own home on a small city lot, I place the receiver higher on the list
Hi Ron, I've looked at the Timewave (used to be the JPS ANC-4), and a better option, the MFJ unit (has a better combination of phase options.) It's nice in that if the bulk of your noise is coming fr
