Agreed, but the radio is most likely getting assigned an IP via DHCP in the router, and most folks don't change the default settings. Then again, maybe I'm way off on this - I don't have an Omni VII

The Omni VI/VI+ used a reed relay for T/R switching, even tho they may have used diodes in the circuit. Remember all the complaints about how some folks could hear their relay and others couldn't? :-
