The mod is only so you can use the SWEEP function. Without the mod, you can still safely run v3 firmware, but SWEEP won't work. IMHO, the SWEEP is almost useless anyway. Barry N1EU

I believe the problem is specific to the Acom 2000A but not 100% sure that Acom amplifier models are immune. Using a BCB high pass filter fixes the problem. It's due to low level, low frequency spurs
