The low pass filter board shares the same relays on 15 and 17 meters. Was you describe is exactly what one would expect if one of the 15/17 meter relays (K4 or K5) was not making connection. Gary
First thing is to do a hard reset. Then replace all of the capacitors on the A9 board. When those caps fail, they cause all sorts of odd problems. Gary
Lee: I have your knob in my hand. $7 plus shipping. Filters I have are: 48055, 219, 9 MHz IF, 250 Hz 48074, 6.3 MHz IF, 2400 Hz (3) Thats all I can find right now aside from some Orion 2 filters.
The Option 3 upgrade that Ten Tec offered did mot add any filters to the radio, it only added one space for a filter on the 9 MHz board. Shipping will be about $15 to VK land. That would be the same
Does ANYONE have a schematic for the Scout with FET driver stage? I have such a Scout and setting bias is sort of guesswork without the power manual. Gary W0DVN
I have more time in this than I ever wanted, but I know the Scout pretty well now It works fine in every way EXCEPT that the output power goes down from 50 watts on 20 to 20 watts on 40. When I measu
First thing to do - remove the tube and safely suspend the plate connector so it cant touch anything, then apply power to see if the fuse still opens. Gary

Part of the problem with this type of amp is that the delay turn on does not make it easy to, say, operate the amp at a low voltage on a Variac to locate problems at safe working potentials (and curr
A scrapper Eagle??? That would have to be a lightning hit radio! In any case, can you send me a photo of the coil? I have a lot of true scrapper HF radios and may be ably to find a slug with proper p
Clean solder joints are not necessarily good solder joints. Pretty on the outside, ugly on the inside... I have found more solder issues on that board than any other Omni 6 board, ever. Of course its
What board number are you addressing? The TX low pass board, 80260, shares one variable cap on all bands and that is for sampling to the directional coupler. Gary
Well, a sweep generator, as called out in the manual, is preferred. Lacking that. heres a way to get around the lack of one. This circuit is a bandpass circuit but, fortunately, only has two points o
I have found One Orion 2 rounded VFO knob tire in my pile. It is in good condition. I offer it here before going to the big site. $35 shipped in CONUSA. Gary
