I was looking at the wrong schematic set, the original Orion. Found the much much simpler logic board for the Omni VI in the Omni VI manual. CPU is an 80C32. Still available from multiple makers. Ram

In Germany that coil tubing was probably 6 or 8 mm diameter. Practically 1/4 or 5/16" diameter. I just checked a couple banana plugs and jacks. I get 0.145" as the smallest rigid diameter of the plug

From a distance we have NO way to tell if its the EPROM. But a whole string of Kenwoods had a problem with EPROM sockets so the factory solution was to solder the EPROM in after pulling the socket. A
