Hi Bob and the group. Well, I've found out what the problem is. The Molex PSU connector and the fuseholder were causing around 600mV drop @ 20 amps. I have now connected the radio directly to the PSU

Thanks for the info Don. Yes, I've double checked, and none of the oscillators I can find on the schematic are powered directly by the incoming +Vcc, all are powered from REG+ 8.5v or 5v in the PLL c

Hello Ron. Thanks for the tip, which is why I've copied this to the list as well. I'll be checking the co-ax connectors carefully, although mechanical shock doesn't make the TX frequency jump at all.

Hi Carl. Thanks for the input. The 8.5v reg is working fine, according to my meter there is no change in this supply when varying the RF output, even with a meter that can resolve to 1mV when the 20v
