- I removed antenna, and sure enough, heard the pulsing signal at 14.0004, zero beat at 14.0000. The fact its only heard without antenna, on a frequency I never use, makes it even more a non-issue. 73,

- I bought a cheap Chinese frequency counter bar from eBay. I wired the counter input to the output terminal from the PTO box on my 509. It can be reached by sliding open the bottom cover on the radio
