I found poor soldering and a leaky electrolytic capacitor. Contact ARRL about the power line noise, worked for me!

I have a CAE APS 55 SMPS power supply designed to parallel with a 12 volt automotive battery for audio applications. Very quiet but not perfect. I turn it off if the noise is a problem. 13.4 volts 55

Check the balun for the correct Z of the windings, then try 4:1 and 1:4 configurations. I use a two core balun that works in both directions to solve that problem. Spencer W1GAK

A friend rescued a Corsair from going to the scrap heap. I used a noise generator, ICOM IC7000 and an old BC221 to get the radio operating again. EVERY adjustment in that radio was out of alignment.

Just curious....what noise gen did you use?? Palomar R-X noise bridge with Bird 50 ohm dummy load. Uncalibrated but very wide band noise up to UHF. X set to 0 and R near the null point. Spencer W1GAK
