Thanks for the input. I took the fan out and here's the details; AC fan, 4 5/8" x 4 5/8" x 1 3/8" thick, 5 blades and 100CFM. Mounting holes 4 1/8" apart. It runs full speed all the time. I'll look f

Well, I went shopping for a new fan at several of the D/FW electronic stores. I found a number of AC fans that are direct replacements. Some had lower Db and similar CFM specs but, none were quieter.

I should have given a little more detail. I tried several resistor values to check perceived noise level and cooling before deciding on the 150 ohm. I am quite happy with the result. It is no louder

I checked the case temperature before during and after a 5 minute continuous key-down @ 450 watts into a dummy load. The results; recorded with a Raytek infrared thermometer: *before; case intake 95
