OK, Just my experience... No, you really cant use the radio out of the box. Well, maybe if the bands were real quiet (unlike present days with the Sun going nuts on us and the cycle going downhill).

OK, I have a bunch of Collins, Drakes, and a very nice Icom 746-PRO. I have had the ORION for about 6 weeks. I love the features and the way it is so easy to get right at the parm you want to tweak!!

Bob, I have an ORION.... NO EQ at all. They call it EQ, but it is a tone control (-20 to +20 DB) on RCV and TX. No seperate audio freq band EQ. Don't know about the others... Lee ____________________

The simple answer is 2.1 - 2.4 KC. 2.8 at the very most. That (2.1 - 2.4) is what Collins, Drake etc. etc. did . Works well, uses minimum BW... Am is neat for the 'BROADCAST' Quality stuff. Let's mov
