Fill out an order form on inrad's web site but since it's not listed, type it in the comments window. I guess that will get you on the list for the next batch which he plans to produce at the end of
I'm not sure I follow you there Jeff. Having an optional filter on the IF board is not required to activate the roofing filter but you still need to push either N1 or N2 to make it's relay kick it in
You can't do that unless you come up with a front panel switch. The roofing filter follows the N buttons. Guess you'll have to get the drill out and poke a hole somewhere. Why do you want to do this?
Had both and more. The Jup will get clobbered by strong signals. Using the passband tuning helps some but you'll still get some qrm. No comparison in selectivity between it and the V. Don't pay much
Rick You're not giving up any modes for a roofing filter. Everything still works as it always did. The Omni VI never had AM anyway. FM still uses the wide filter. Steve
Yep. I turned it on, listened, tuned around, said "ok that's cool", turned it off and never bothered with it again. I don't see the point. To use it, you must open your filters wide. So you hear high
Duane: This makes some sense. I guess if you had a woman talking on your left and a man on the right it would be easier to distinguish what they are saying then if they were both in front of you. Sam
Barry: One thing that bothered me about the Orion was how the agc responded to static. I've noticed this characteristic in a few other receivers where a burst of static tends to totally mute the rece
Yes of course I adjusted the "threshold". I spent hours fiddling with all the agc adjustments. I even followed the detailed instructions someone seems to have dedicated their life to and posted on so
Lee: You Orion owners are far to sensitive. I will "knock" any rig I please including the ones I own (which I have done often). Yes, I own a microchirping Omni VI! I did manage to fix that problem ho
Buck Yes you are correct. For noisy conditions you want a very fast decay, the same as pushing the "fast AGC" button on a normal rig. There's all kinds of fuzzy agc logic floating around these days.
Bill Someone suggested using the PROC button to activate the roofing. When in cw mode, it still supplies DC voltage when activated but of course the processor is inactive. The cw mode voltage can be

Clark: I have the manuals for both the VI and VI+ and have compared the IF/AF board component values fwiw. The only one that stands out it C6. From the VI to VI+, C6 goes from 1,000pf to 2200pf. R31
