I don't know about the Ghiel chip, but my N4PY Paragon chip will make the Paragon talk Icom over the serial port. So all you would have to do is configure logger32 for an Icom radio and it would work

No, there were no options for filters on the c-21. The filtering is all done at audio so I would look for things like loose connectors and such. Maybe the filter switch is just dirty from lack of use

I had something similar problem happen to my OII when I first received it. It would go almost deaf. I changed antenna settings to antenna 2 and right back to anetnna 1 and the problem never occurred
