The 1209 converts 144 to 50 mhz. You will enjoy the 1208. I used one with my Orion for a long time and it worked very well. Yes, just keep the power at 5 watts and all will work well. Be very careful

I was referring to the 1209, not the 1208. The 1209 is a 6 meter transverter that converts 50 mhz to 144 so you can use a 2 meter radio and get 6 meters. I never had a 1209, just a 1208. And of cours

You need an SDR that is capability of making a panadapter screen using powerSDR. This requires a Flex radio of some type. I believe SoftRock radios will also work. The key is they must be capable of

It sounds like the amp does not connect TXEN to TXOUT when its antenna relay switches to transmit. If you have the amp in standby but still connected to TXEN and TXOUT, does the Orion transmit normal
