Ten-tec makes a good radio. The Orion ended up a good radio. The Orion II is a good radio. The v1 Orion had some well known problems and that's in part why there is now a v2 code base. In the proces

I agree with that point entirely. My observation was just that, based on one data point, that may or not be statistically different from any other measurement of the same parameters, given possible

I realize that. Problem is the way the +/- goes. Using 150 Hz as a reference, it's really a 4 dB DROP from 150 hz to 2400 hz on the AM curve when the radio is ostensibly set for a "flat" EQ response

EQ is not "forcing" a radio to do something it's trying not to do. It's standard practice. That's true. The AM response curve in v2/II, as someone pointed out, is more "broadcast quality" from a low

I agree comletely from the point of view of whether or not there's enough distortion-free headroom to actually do it. Theoretically it's certainly possible; practical possibility is another matter a

The original v1 Orion is better in this regard -- with an actual transmit audio bandwidth capability of 50-3900 Hz (at the 6dB points). This is user adjustable between 50-300Hz on the low end, and o
