I think that would work just fine. Just run +12 (or +5 or whatever) through a current limiting resistor in series with the relay coil and connect the other end of the coil to a TX OUT line. That wil

The block diagrams do not show it in the receive signal path. I've never observed issues with the tuner tuned last for 80M and the receiver on 20M, for example. If I use my external tuner in that way

Well, that's too bad. The reflector is a place to discuss -- somethings good, somethings not. I've always maintained it's a good thing to at least get a feeling for what other opinions are. As they

Why would you sell your Orion just because someone else makes nagative comments? Are you not capable of making decisions for yourself? :-) I've been known to make a negative comment or two, and I wi

That is what is shown in the schematics, but there is no schematic of the tuner board, which may have a shorting relay that is only opened on transmit. Regardless, there is no substantive difference

I posted earlier that MDS did not appear to be affected on any other band when the tuner was tuned elsewhere. Those tests were run with the tuner tuned up on 80M and 40M. I just ran the same test wi

How much research can one do? The Studio One is a fine mic. No matter what radio you use, you may find that some processing, maybe nothing more than simple EQ, is required to make it sound its best

2.028 did not intentionally remove AM. Something likely went awry in the transmit gain change that was made in 2.026, and regression testing missed the fault. As to your views on AM in general, you'

My impression is that NR filter adaption at the lower levels is faster than it was in the Orion. Seems to me that a 1-2 setting on the Orion would "stick" for quite a while, meaning that it was less
