It's best to adjust the BFO carrier frequencies pursuant to the Ten-Tec manual. Adjusting the BFO by ear will likely yield an inaccurate frequency display when you are netted in SSB or zero beat with

This is common among the Ten-Tec crystal ladder filters. The INRAD filters do not exhibit this asymmetry, but like most crystal *lattice* filters I detect a very slight increase in ringing with them
