Not sure why, but remain impressed by capabilities of my older Ten-Tec rigs ( 540, 544, 546 ). With little effort this afternoon, Bulgaria, Gibraltar, Slovenia, Slovak Republic in about 30 minutes us

Bob, My antenna is one of L.B. Cebik's favorite, an 88' doublet, center fed with 300 ohm twinlead. Deed restrictions prevent a tower with gain antenna on it. Certainly the Ten-Tec receiver is a plus

I'm somewhat puzzled by why TT discontinued the Argonaut V not too long ago, and the 405 QRP amplifier looong ago, now introduces an amp (I know the new one is 100W vs 50W )and soon an Argonaut VI. S

My first Ten-Tec was a used Argonaut 509, followed by a new Argonaut V. Today, use a 544, 540 and Omni C. Main reason for buying the 509 was company reputation and wanting multiband QRP rig at reason

Owning a Triton IV, wasn't the receiver essentially same from Argonaut 509 through all the Tritons? Curt KB5JO That was the Triton I. The Triton IV came out in 1976.
