Thanks to all for the info. I was hoping the individual receivers had fixed line out but I guess the "exotic" arrangement is workable. I was used to the independent fixed line-level outputs of the FT

Martin I would like to see line out as you described your wishes. Bob W2WG Tommy, My rig does not behave that way. Left=Sub produces constant output unless you zero out the Sub AF volume. (v 1.372) I

I have been playing with Spectrogram and looking at the audio output of the Orion, particularly at how the various AGC settings allow or suppress the inter-element noise depending on the decay time s

My Orion meter reads 40w out, but the RF Applications power meter sees it as 18W. Bob W2WG Got mine about a week ago. I push tune and internal meter reads about 40 W. is the again button higher load.

In my case I have the internal tuner and get the same results as Grant. My belief is that the internal meter is not accurate at lower powers but is ok at powers close to 100w. Bob W2WG WIth or withou

In my case I had exactly the opposite experience. I think my problems were compounded with RF/noise susceptibility issues when I was using 1.371, though as far as I can tell my shack is reasonably rf

Tony Hopefully it's not the relay with such a new unit, but I have had two Ameritrons with open frame relays fail that way. So far I have not baked the PINs in an Alpha 86 or Alpha 89 yet, but that i

I bought my Orion with the tuner installed but did not expect to use it often and have not done so. However the few times I have used it I did not feel it did a very good job. It seemed to give up ar

Based on experience with an AL80 I would suspect the amp is set up with the slug tuned for the phone band and may not have enough BW for a low SWR across the band. You may have to use a compromise se
