- The reason for the high threshold is this to establish a base of a S9 signal. Signals over S9 will trigger AGC while those below will not. I stated this was for casual operation, with good conditions

- To get to the Prog setting I gave previously for my 566, I disconnected the antenna and shorted out the antenna connector. I then increased the AGC threshold until the S meter read S9. This was 38.30
