My son gave me a nice D 104 Silver Eagle, the one with the pre amp-I am guessing since it has the standard mic cable, a two wire cable which I assume is for powering the amp and a small switch on one

Forgot to mention that the broadcast band does not tune at all. The same signals appear, muted, garbled, mixed no matter what the dial setting. See earlier post for HF problems on Argonaut receive. B

Couldn't solve the problems I had with my poor receive conditions....like the same signals/qso's appearing every 2.5 khz across the band and a broadcast band check that sounded like a crystal set...n
