Kirk, I have never used the Jupiter so I can't comment on it. I have had an Argonaut since last August and it is wonderful. I won't compare it to my Orion II since they are rather different animals,

Thanks for clearing that up Paul. You are probably correct, it is just the agc doing it's thing. Some capability to adjust the agc would have been really nice, but there's not much to complain about
