Jon, I'd suggest that you measure the Q6 transistor that you removed to see what its condition is. An ohm meter measurement of the emitter-to-base diode and of the collector-to-base diode, both forwa

Thanks James and also Stuart. I am busy for the next few days and probably wont get back to the radio for a few. I REALLY appreciate the input. I am waiting for the pin diodes and just picked up a DM
Jon, One other check you might want to make while Q6 is removed: on Rx, measure the voltage at the R32/R33 junction, and the voltage at the R31/R32 junction; they should be around 1.7v and 9.5v respe

Update on Corsair: replaced all the pin diodes. Before putting Q6 back tested voltages again per Steve's suggestion. Still reading 11.52V at both points Steve suggested to measure. Have not reinstall
The first thing I'd do is check that R33 is not open-circuit, or has become disconnected at one end or the other. Steve G3TXQ On 19/10/2015 22:40, jon greenwood via TenTec wrote: Update on Corsair: r

Success!!!! Steve you nailed it! I had no ground at R33 and C23. I took me a while to realize how ground made it to this point on the board. The ground runs through the case of L6. I traced back to t
*Congrats Jon,* * Sure am glad that you toughed it out. And also, thank you so much for keeping us in the loop when you cured the problem. I really miss my Corsair. We could run the RF Gain back a bi
Well done Jon - it's always good to hear of another Corsair being kept alive! 73, Steve G3TXQ _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com http://lists.co
