Has anyone suceeded in balancing Orion 565 VFO knobs? On my Orion 565, both VFO knobs (when left to themselves) return to the same angular position, which is precisely the same on both encoder shafts

Sinisa, I guess you like your knobs freer than I do. I have ever so slight a drag. Hold the knob skirt and rotate the knob to the right and it will increase the drag. My knobs never drift. 73, John H

I have a 566, and the knobs are perfectly balanced. You can push on the sliver apron to adjust knob friction -- I have mine set to minimum. You can also take them off and re-set the setscrew. You can

It's great to know that knobs on 566 do not drift by themselves. I managed today to balance both of my 565 VFO knobs. It was easier than expected, took me 15 minutes per knob. Using an 8 mm slot dril
