Hi Carl Tnx so very much for trying to help. The jumper was installed inside by TenTec when the rig was made. The display changing to 9 MHZ only happens on the 10 mtr bands.. Any other ideas would be

That sounds like the 10 meter band crystal is bad. You might try tweaking the 10 meter crystal trimmer and see if you can revive it. Also unplug and replug the crystal a couple of times. Carl Moresch
