Without fsk keying, all you get out is a steady carrier. To use AFSK, the OII has to be in SSB mode. I've used both - finally; /archives//html/TenTec/2008-07/msg00356.html (8,490 bytes)

When you go to FSK mode you immediately have the filters set up correctly for RTTY; and additionally you don't have to worry about overdr; /archives//html/TenTec/2008-07/msg00357.html (8,062 bytes)
