The Orion and Orion II have one the best hardware noise blankers I have ever seen. Depending on the noise you have, a hardware noise blanker may be much more effective than DSP noise reduction. Noise

Thanks for the quick input. Carl/Ron, my noise seems to be only "phased" by the use of DSP NR. The blanker seems to have very little effect. Most of my sources are wideband hash from switching suppli

I have the Pro III sitting along side my Orion I, I am a VHF'ER 6 Meters and up. The Pro III don't even come close, and on some noise it is just like it is turned off. The Orions noise blanker is the

The original inquiry was about the Noise Reduction on the Orion vs the NR on the Pro 3. Some how this got switched to the NB ( noise blanker) on the Orion being better. The NB is indeed better on the
