When I spin the tuning knob on my O-6, the frequency doesn't change. RIT works fine, and keypad entry works fine also. Should I be looking for a new encoder, or could it be something else? 73, Doug W

May be a loose connector behind the faceplate where the encoder talks to the processor, I'd check that first. You can test your own encoder by switching the connector from the RIT control over to the

There was a particular encoder that Ten Tec used for a while that wasn't of the best quality. I've had to replace my main tuning encoder. The Ten Tec parts department carries a replacement encoder. R

Clark has it right. ALSO, sometimes the encoder connector gets a light coating of ??? on it which you can clean off . Try working the connector on and off a few times. It fixed my 2000 PLUS and saved
