Yes, you are doing something wrong. The amp does not need to be on, but you need to switch the switch in the lower right hand corner (can't remember what it's called) -- Standby/Operate (?). It must

Robb, I believe you need to check and verify that you have the TX Enable and TX Out cables hooked up correctly between your Omni and Centurion. I don't have an amp, so am not fully up on the TX Enab
