I've rarely found it truly necessary to mute my 59+. Yes, it picks up a tiny bit of RF sometimes and so grumbles in the background but it doesn't get obnoxious. I haven't used it much with my Corsair

Hi Mike, I use the 599+. I quit using the mute line, and never really missed it. The only side effect is on CW, where the audio delay throught the unit screws up your keying. (Delayed sidetone). The
