Easy to change the time constant for the AGC. There is one cap in there and I've doubled the value of mine (as I recall) to make my slow AGC much slower than it used to be. Look over the schematic an

Hi Steve, The variation in display brightness is a feature. Key up thump? Not in my Omni VI. A very interesting problem. Since it happens on all bands, I would guess that the 15.3 MHz PBT oscillator

When a tiny adjustment of the offset frequency moves the beat out of the pass band it sounds to me like a harmonic beat. As if the oscillator has too many harmonics from overdriving a mixer, or as yo

Steve, I've had this same situation since having my Omni 6 back from the factory upgrade to option 3. Don't remember it being present before the upgrade. I just always move the PBT and don't worry ab

Jerry & Ken I think your explanations get closest! The pitch of the heterodyne moves so quickly with a slight rotation of the PBT control that it feels like it has to be at least the third harmonic,
