This was an issue which I wrote comments about at the Yahoo Omni VII group. John Henry, of TenTec, later had a new firmware revision which corrected this issue of the SWR meter showing 9:1 at times.

bob and the gang.. the problem is in the tune position. press tune and the swr reads 5.6 to 1 or 9.99 to 1 or 1.1 to 1 every time I press tune, I get another reading... you should see it dance in cw.

I would suspect a poor connection or connector somewhere in the path from the reflected side of the wattmeter current transformer, or possibly around the reflected diode itself. Phil Chambley, Sr. k4

My Omni VII, using TUNE, reads a constant 1.2 SWR no matter how many times I press tune. Any chance you have a loose PL-259 somewhere or bad solder connection on the antenna path? Carl Moreschi N4PY
