Tim, I don't know what you mean by "freezes," but when I turn the VFO knob the display doesn't move for about one second. That's enough for me to tune close to the desired signal, if not right on it.

Ray, He is talking about the nice feature (which was removed in 2.044a) that freezes the sweep dsplay when you tune so that you can pounce right on the signal your after..I LOVED IT...NOW IT IS GONE
