Martin: Thanks for posting that information. I have uploaded the new version, and AM works fine now, with 100% power equaling 40 carrier as measured with a Bird 43 and dummy load. I also checked the

I have noticed this problem and installed a CPU fan to blow across the top on the Orion and this keeps the heat build up down considerably. I hung the fan under the shelf above the Orion attached wit

Circulating air will reduce the temperature rise and the total warmup drift (and maybe prolong your rig's life), but you will still have drift from changes in ambient temperature. The "better" way is

Yes, of course. I have yet to see my II over +- 5 hz using a GPS stabilized oscillator as a reference, and tracking frequency over about 60 minutes after turn on. That's with no fans or other stuff.

I agree. Interesting stats. Especially for those of us that lived through the travails of the O-I initial release. The T-T team has done a fine job. Grant/NQ5T ______________________________________

Interesting, but what is the lowest resolution you can read on the display? If it's 10 Hz increments, then you're within the digital accuracy of the display, which is always +/- 1 count. If it's 1 Hz

The Orion 1/2 gives you 1 Hz setting precision, so 10 Hz is easy to measure. This is very handy if you actually want to measure frequencies to high accuracy/precision. See my 2005 ARRL FMT result for

Martin - I was only able to measure on 80 meters . My stock Orion yielded an error of - 0.81 cycles or -0.20 ppm on 80 meters. ARRL sez in their letter that anything within 0.5 ppm is probably within
