Ya think if the O2's auto tuner didn't match the antenna the "Tuned" just above the sub receivers audio scale would not be there??? No matter the ending SWR it says "tuned" in my case. I can't determ

On the Orion I, and I assume it's the same on the II, the "Tuned" indicator only stays on if the tuner can successfully bring the SWR below about 2:1. If it cannot, the "tuned" line is turned off. 73

The "tuned" stays on, on my O2 no matter what the SWR is. If I press the tune button again it then goes off but I assume that means it is in by-pass. George W2YJ _____________________________________

You said: "no matter what the SWR is" . . . If the SWR is 4:1, the tuner will not have found a tuned condition, and the "tuned" indicator will not go on, and the tuner will be disengaged. I don't rec

Some mention of "high" SWR. What exactly is high SWR? Some folks consider 2:1 as high while other consider 10:1 as high. I think we'd all agree that 10:1 is indeed high. I've found that Tentec PA's a

Yes, I guess I'm saying that I don't agree with the way the O2 tuner and indicator works. Mine always says "tuned" no matter what. I tried it into an open, bad but I had to try it, and it says tuned?

Duane; Let me add that I do see a "SWR HIGH" indication but I have to key the O2 for it to be displayed, after I tuning into a known high SWR. I'm beginning to think that the "tuned" indicator just m

the O1 does the same thing if it cannot tune below 2:1. thus there is no match. jack ak7o it _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com http://lists.con

My experience is that auto tuners indicate TUNED when they attain the lowest SWR regardless of the value. It could be 10:1 and if that is the best it can do then it is TUNED. Although most would not

That is not how my Orion I works - if it cannot find an acceptable SWR (I don't know what the value is set for) it will end it's tuning sequence and the "tuned" indication will NOT be turned on. I wi

The commercial grade automatic antenna couplers I have used do something similar to what you suggest. They do their best at achieving a match and if the match is deemed poor they light a "fault" indi
