Tom, I have used the JPS ANC-4 and it works wonders on local power line noise. I went from a S-9 to S-3 noise level with no loss of distant siginals strength by using one. My buddy who has used them

Hi Tom (et al)-- My suggestion is that, instead of spending a fortune trying to eliminate noise at your station, you first try to eliminate it at its source. This can be easier than you might think.

Hi Tom, The technique you describe below has been around awhile, and you could build it yourself for a lot less than $190. It is covered in my 1941 Radio Handbook, and I'm sure it is covered in other

Tom, I run an 89 meter dipole fed through ladder line and an MFJ-989C roller inductor tuner to my Omni VI+. I also experience some power line noise. Subsequently, I put up some band specific dipoles

If you want to do this easier just get the MFJ active noise reduction unit. I have one because I live near some big power lines and a substation about a mile from my house. Its only noisey on humid d

(snip) I strongly suggest trying the MFJ noise cancelling unit...it has worked wonders at my site, which has electric trolly lines running about 20 feet from my shack, and other electrical noise sou

As a newbie to the hobby, how can you tell what power line noise sounds like? I know what alternator hash sounds like, but only from personal experience. What other noise sources are there? -- ** Sha

The best demonstration for power line noise is to take a portable AM radio and hold it next to your electric meter outside and listen. Of course with a bfo, it will sound a little different. Steve N4

I've seen several MFJ recommendations in response to this question. Will the MFJ work in full break-in (QSK) mode? I think that the JPS has awitching delay, so it might only be useable in semi-breakin
