Reed, My Argo V, also v1.08, must have a little more audio gain than yours, or else I just talk louder, so the numbers are a little different, but I also notice that the 706 desk mike has lower outpu

Hi Reed, Following your suggestion, I took off the bottom plate and see that the ground connection between it and the chassis is OK (through a lockwasher lug at one of the mounting screws). However,

Jim, v1.08 of the Argonaut V includes some hardware mods as well as software. It was installed at the factory when I sent mine back last January for an unrelated warranty repair (a blown keyer chip).
