In thinking about the measurement of EIRP for the new band it occurred to me that this might be the time for a few folks to think about how we could fabricate a "commonly calibrated" field strength m
Joe, et. al I am quite certain that there will need to be different sense antennas for 160m and 630m. I would not be surprised if we did not also need bandpass filters for each of the bands as well.
Here is a chance to see, if not hear, signals on 600 meters. http://w5jgv.com/Spectrum/index.htm There are a lot of guys who participated in the experimental effort - check out http://www.500kc.com/U
Barry: I found your tape fascinating. I am very envious of the low noise level that was recorded - - beverages must make a difference. :) Although I heard, from my Idaho QTH, some of the same signals
Herb: Is this a typo? I wonder if you meant $0.40/KWH. At $40/KWH I would guess you could not afford to run your equipment for an entire contest! 73, Tod, KØTO _______________________________________
Is this a current Topband topic? Did I miss something. I thought folks were talking about antennas and some new and unusual ideas with respect to them. Tod, K0TO _____________________________________
I am sure [or at least I hope] I could sort through the information available in books and on the web for the answer to this question, but maybe someone reading this reflector can give me an 'instant
Is no one going to suggest that a ³gyrator² should be put into the circuit instead of an inductor? There was a W3 who had some of the diodes for replacements. They are surface mount and small! Obviou
I may have worked only 10 S&P last night. When it is a struggle to work WY,UT,MT and WA from ID you know something is not right. I did manage one NY, IN, OH, IA, and ND but could not even hear the ID
US hams who were licensed in the 50's will remember that you got a separate Operator's license and Station license. At some point the FCC merged the two -- probably to save paper. Tod, K0TO Sent from
What difference does it make? Who cares if someone else, rich or not, cheats? We should encourage them to work K1N as quickly as possible and then go away. I leave you with a Shakespeare quote, "It i

If you are a serious contest op you should not be reading this ? get back in the chair and work some more stations. I have been asked to operate 160m this evening by several Caribbean stations. Since

My recollection is that as recently (?) as 1960 I held both an Operator license and a separate Station license. The first authorized me to operate a licensed Station and the second licensed a Station
